Who are we?

The Foundation 'Friends of Burkina Faso Eindhoven' is a Dutch foundation which has close links with a local organisation for farmers, youths and women in the Les Balé region of Burkina Faso. One of our members is from Les Balé and knows the people involved.

They have formed a local foundation, Amicale des Frères Unis du Burkina (AFUB), to improve the situation in their region.

We respect their way of taking care of each other and of trying to enhance their quality of life. We support them in raising funds in the Netherlands for financing their projects.

They decide on the projects and execute them. We help them financially.

AFUB in Burkina Faso

The foreign office of Burkina Faso acknowledged AFUB on 1st juli 1999.

The goals of AFUB are:

• The building of health centres.
• The prevention of HIV/AIDS and malaria.
• The support of education and literacy.
• The promotion of modern techniques in agriculture.
• The help of the poor and the handicapped.
• The fight against crime and participation in studies about youth problems.
• The support of solidarity in working together.

They collect money through membership fees, the revenues from the harvest of a common field and they hire out video equipment. We support their needs financially. We always receive photos of the work in progess, in addition to their annual moral and financial report.
